How to Group Pins into Collections and Smart Lists

Collections in Peel The Map let you group your pins into themed lists, just like creating playlists for your music. Whether it's "Summer in Japan", "Best Cafes", or "Hiking Trails", each collection helps you keep your places organized by theme, trip, or purpose.

A collection is a group of pins organized with a custom name, color, and icon representing it. Unlike tags (which are categories applied to individual pins), collections are flexible containers that can include any pin regardless of its tags. Collections are securely synced across your account.

From the Collections screen, tap the "+" button to open the creation modal. Choose a descriptive name, a distinctive color, and an icon that captures the essence of the collection. The new collection will appear immediately in your grid, ready to be populated with your pins.

You can add pins to a collection directly from the pin details or from the collection screen. A single pin can belong to multiple collections at the same time, giving you the flexibility to organize your places in different ways without duplicating them.

Create collections for every trip, by activity type, or by any criteria you like. You can sort collections by name or creation date, and quickly search them with the built-in search bar.

Collections can be collaborative (allowing friends to add or edit places) or shared in view-only mode. All updates sync instantly across devices for seamless trip co-planning.

The number of collections you can create depends on your plan. Free tier users get a comfortable limit to get started, while premium users enjoy unlimited collections.
